Book Proposal

If you'd like Goblin Fern Press to consider your book for publication, please submit a book proposal to us at info@goblinfernpress.com.

Our Pledge: When you submit your proposal to Goblin Fern Press, we will send you an acknowledgement notice that we have received your materials and respond to your query within 14 business days of receipt.

Your book proposal needs to contain the following: (print and include this page)

1) A detailed description of the book. By answering the following questions, you are helping us make a decision about publishing your book.

• What is the purpose of your book? What need does it fill? Why is this topic important?
• What is unique about your book?
• What category (categories) does your book fit? (For example, where would your book be located in the bookstore? Self-help, motivation, business, health, etc.)
• At what level is your book written? What experience would the reader need to fully appreciate your book?
• Who is your audience? (Please be as detailed as possible, for this will help us develop your marketing plan. You can also list organizations, newsletters, etc. that reach your specific audience.)
• What other books have been published on this topic? How is your book different?
• What books compliment your book?
• Do you have any ideas about book design, marketing, or other aspects that we should know about?
• Approximate length of manuscript. Please include number of illustrations, chards, graphs, etc.
• Will your book need to be indexed?
• Approximate date your manuscript will be complete.

 

2) A detailed table of contents with several lines describing topics covered in each chapter.

3) At least two consecutive sample chapters, as typical of your writing as possible. Please include illustrations, graphs, etc. if these are key to your manuscript. Sample chapters may be submitted as hardcopy or as attached MS Word files. Either way, please make sure they are double-spaced with 1-inch margins on all sides.

4) Your resume (why are you an authority on your subject?)
